Next Call of Duty reveal by E3, Activision community manager suggests

4.5
Activision social media manager Dan Amrich has said he expects 2013's entry in the Call of Duty series, which may be Modern Warfare 4, to be revealed no later than E3 in early June.

Speaking to fans in a YouTube video, he said: "We're still deep in the middle of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 cycle and there's still a lot more content to come, so you can understand why Activision hasn't really talked about next year yet, but they're going to have to soon, because E3 is coming up."
Amrich noted that the last two Call of Duty games were revealed in May 2011 and May 2012.

"If you're looking for information on the future, it's coming soon, it's just not here yet, it should be here no later than E3," he said.

"We also have the interesting problem of new hardware coming in. We've got a PS4, we've got whatever Xbox is working on - is that going to be this year, I don't know."

Last year, a CV belonging to an Infinity Ward software engineer suggested that the studio's next Call of Duty game will release on both current and next-gen consoles.

It has been heavily rumoured that Microsoft will reveal the next-gen Xbox at an as-yet-unannounced event on May 21, and given the platform holder's strong business ties to Activision's series, it wouldn't be surprising to hear some information about the next Call of Duty game around the same time.

I agree, the quality of COD games keep declining.

Except CoD has a $100,000 tournament for the competitive gamers, something that the Battlefield community will never get. And some of the Halo competitive players cry because their game can't get $100,000 tournament. The game takes team work to win not individual skill. Just like in real life you get things done as a team.
first it is 1,000,000 not 100,000. second dota 2 has a 1 million dollar tournament and it is free to play and in beta.
CoD can't and will not be competitive. it will never compare to counterstrike in skill nor competitiveness. its on a god damn controller and has sticky aim. some skill...

Literacy Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 was made to be revolved around the competitive community, Infinity Ward do the same please.

There is no competitiveness to a game that doesn't take skill call of duty will never take skill.

League Play is 100% competitive.

Hardly.

I was placed in high platinum.
Everyone just sits in a corner with snipers in the games I join.

As someone who was placed in very low Master (we got placed 14 master, worked our way up to 9 and then one of our teammates never got on so we could play and eventually got dropped down to 49 after not playing for 2 weeks)
ANNNNYYYWAY, when you become Master, you roll with the big dogs. We had to back out of plenty of lobbies because we're SEVERELY outmatched.

I've never even played enough to get placed in master.

I generally play my 5 placement matches and play one or two more. Then I just go on Zombies or Kill Confirmed.

It's actually funny though. I went up against some Master players, they were actually REALLY bad.

It was hardpoint unfortunately, so they understood where the hardpoint went next and we didn't. However, they could hardly kill us and they just sat back with shotguns in the hardpoint.

I just think they should have thought about League Play a bit more. Hopefully, they fix it for you guys next time. If the quality would turn out like Starcraft 2's ladder system, it'll be extremely enjoyable.

I however, am not even worrying about buying another CoD. Waste of money in my opinion.

League play has a new/different matchmaking system that search games with player that have almost the same skills that you have. Many player use team work in there so I recommend you to be with some friends (at least 3). If you go by your self trust me you will get your a** beat unless your team is you and a party of 5. I know because I have experience it. I don't know why you find people sitting in a corner with a sniper because every game I play (because you can't join a started game) almost anybody is using assault rifles or sub-machine guns.

You're very lucky. I have maybe 1 out of 6 games with normal players. I just have bad luck when it comes to that game.
Either way, you can pull it off playing by yourself. It's even harder in the Championship Series, usually people rehearse the maps and if you're alone it's horrible.

But as far as being competitive, no.
In my opinion, competitive is each team being balanced and whoever has more skill wins. Call of Duty just isn't like that anymore.

The League play actually came from Starcraft 2. It's made by the company that merged with Activision years ago, it is way more competitive in Starcraft. They should adjust it in my opinion.

...Where did I even mentioned battlefield?

Anyway. Starcraft 2 has tournaments for the top 8 players in each subdivision in each division.

Like I said, it was taken from Starcraft and placed for use into CoD without much thought or tweaking.

The only thing that requires teamwork is game modes like Hardpoint, and it's all about your opponents.

This is really not surprising. We get a teaser trailer before E3 with gameplay footage at E3. Usually the formula they go with. I'm kind of amped though. Call of Duty always interests me. Games always interest me, lol.
