Anonymous not involved in Xbox Live downtime, Microsoft responds.

Xbox live went down yesterday for quite sometime and nobody could sign into their Xbox live accounts at all and people start getting a bit worried when the Xbox Live service status page does not give you a lot of information and when the outage was quite a large one as the service was down for a few hours.

Some people have jumped to the conclusion that Anonymous hacked Xbox live due to their high profile attacks. However, YourAnonNews has reached out on Twitter to clear up the confusion and claims that Anonymous did not take down Xbox Live and they had nothing to do with the service being offline for so long.

@YourAnonNews
"XBOX Live was NOT hacked by Anonymous."

a Microsoft representative informed gameinformer that the outage was due to routine maintenance. Some individuals had claimed that hacking brought the service down yesterday. Microsoft assures us that this is false.

Glad to see anonymous isn't involved in this. And luckily I wasn't home to be aggravated by xbox when this was all happening :)

Good, no real reason to hack Microsoft. Minus their sh1t products.

Thought it was my connection for a while :P

I didn't think anonymous behind this, anonymous don't hack things just for the sake of it, and as far as I know they would not have a reason to bring down xbox live

People just dont know what to do with their lives without an xbox :P

I love how kids seem to relate PS3 security with Xbox security. They're two very different things. Xbox users pay for security and benefits. PS3 users... Well, they're lucky to receive any security. Then the issue of Anonymous appears, so they jump the "Xbox hacked by Anonymous!" bandwagon.

Can Anonymous get through the Xbox security? Well, if they can get into government security, which they have, then most definitely?

Would they? What reason do they have? Microsoft doesn't overprice their products and they're actually a decent company. Their users pay the monthly/yearly subscription into arcade, DLC, and app benefits and security.
