New iPhone reportedly entering production this quarter

Apple will begin production of a new iPhone similar in size and shape to its latest model in the second quarter of 2013, according to Wall Street Journal sources said to be familiar with the matter.

The publication suggests this would indicate a summer launch for the smartphone.
It also reports that Apple continues to work with its Asian manufacturing partners on a less expensive four-inch iPhone that could be released later in 2013.

It claims the device will likely use a different casing from the premium model and that Apple has been experimenting with different colour shells.

Additionally, it says the iPhone maker is expected to release the latest iOS operating system around the middle of this year.

It was recently claimed that Apple used last month's GDC to inform developers of its plans to release an official iOS gamepad.

its good to see they are making phones regularly, but like twigz said, you buy one and then a while later, a new one is out.

Twigz This is the problem with apple products there constantly making new ones forcing you to buy the latest phone, that's why I don't have one because they just get outdated really fast.


that is very true my friend, at the moment i have a blackberry curve 9320, but in july my mums giving me her iphone 4s which is already out dated, but o'well.

Cygnet man, now my iphone 4s seems like a old shoe...But its been holding up for me for a while now, no need for a new phone :)


The problem is, they will probably stop updating the 4/4S so you don't get any new software features.

I'll see if they add a lot of new features on the new model, but I doubt they will. Might swap over to the S4 when it comes out if they keep it the same.
