Tekken 8 players with Nvidia GPUs are experiencing crashes in the game. The problem appears to be happening to players regardless of whether they have Tekken 8 mods in place.

Tekken 8 got off to a strong start on PC, with a high concurrent player count on Steam upon launch. However, much of the good will towards the game turned sour when the title revealed changes to its monetization system. While some players are still upset about the battle pass, some of those who were still enjoying the game are now experiencing problems with it.

Nvidia GeForce released a new update for its 552.44 Nvidia driver, where it notes potential hiccups that users may encounter. This version update notes that Tekken 8, in particular, is crashing on PCs with Nvidia GTX 10-series GPUs. Unfortunately, Nvidia hasn't provided any tips on how to potentially avoid the crashes, nor is there an ETA for a fix. However, Nvidia GPU drivers release pretty frequently, so with any luck, the issue will be amended with the launch of the next driver.

Avid PC gamers are likely aware that the Nvidia GTX 10-series of cards is quite aged at this point. They launched back in 2016, so some may not be surprised that the hardware is experiencing difficulties. However, Tekken 8's minimum system requirements call for a Nvidia GTX 1050TI or better, so users with Nvidia GTX 10-series cards shouldn't be having this problem, per the developer itself.

Nvidia GTX 10-Series GPUs Still Frequently Used
Many PC gamers are still employing their 10-series GTX cards, even though nearly a decade has passed since they began their release. However, the Nvidia GTX 1080 and 1080TI, in particular, are still a popular choice among fans of PC gaming. Some felt it was better to stick with the GTX cards than to try and update to a newer GPU when their 10-series still worked quite well.

Additionally, the higher-end Nvidia GTX 10-series GPUs remained a popular choice longer than they might have otherwise due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Nvidia RTX 30-series launched in the midst of 2020, but due to problems with limited supplies, it was extremely difficult to get one at MSRP. With Nvidia RTX 20- and Nvidia RTX 30-series cards being scalped, some gamers chose to purchase an older GTX 10-series card or simply stuck with the one they still had.
