Next gen Xbox will have Blu-Ray!

Earlier today, a Microsoft Durango Development Kit popped up on the internet. Included with the leak were 5 images of the "Microsoft Durango XDK Documentation Setup" which shed light on previously unknown parts of the console's hardware and functionality.  

What we find to be the most significant aspect of the leaked documentation can be seen in the image below. It says: "Durango consoles will have a Blu-Ray Disc drive. Disc media will be used for distribution, but during gameplay, games will not use content from the optical disc." What do you think of this?

I really hope that the xbox or the next ps will be able to play 3D-Blu-Ray discs!

If games are required to be installed on to the hard drive and the games are blue-ray discs, then the next xbox hard drive will need to have a lot of memory because a single layer blue-ray disc is 25gb and dual layer blue-ray discs are 50gb.

MPAA So MS has conceded defeat and decided to pay royalties to use Sony's disc technology? Not cool. You could have used HD-DVD just to be different!


I think HD-DVD is being phased out so I doubt they considered using it.

uMad PS3 fanboy? So I assume every single company that sells blu-ray players are copying Sony too? I swear, some of the shit that people say is embarrassing.
