PS3 firmware version 4.40 released

4.7
Sony has released firmware 4.40 for the PS3, with no official changelog we can only go off the few changes listed on the japanese software update page. It lists the changes as general stability tweaks and support for a specific NFC reader. If we gather anymore details about this update we'll be sure to update this posting.

IccyHorizon that's really not that big of a deal I don't even see the need for it but I don't care I have an Xbox and hate ps3.

Yeah, I had a PS3, but I sold it to a friend.

Xbox is way better, I love it.

Except for the fact that you have to buy Xbox love cards

My friend, you get what you pay for.
You dont pay anything (PS3) then you have...
No protection against Hackers/people who mod
A network that goes down everytime a new Call of Duty comes out
A network that gets DDoS'd one time and is down for 2 months
A system that a little kid can jailbreak with a USB

You pay for your entertainment (Xbox360) then you have...
Hacking/Modding protection (to a certain extent)
A powerful network that rarely goes down (MAYBE twice a year)
A large Datacenter that offers Cloud storage
The best exclusive games

Do you see why people think Xbox is better?
Well, for your sake and your personal information that you are handing over to a unsecure network by signing up for PSN, I hope you do understand.

If you PC game you don't have to worry about any of that stuff, and better games and mods for games

A lot of people dont know how to play PC

Like 40 pound a year, that's nothing. I'd rather pay that and have a stable online service which never goes down even except for maintenance which is usually done at off peak times so it causes less disruption.

It is nothing, no big deal.

Kind of stupid, if they are going to release an update do more than "Stability tweaks"
