Take-Two taking action against Grand Theft Auto scammers

4.4
Following its successful efforts last month to remove offending sites such as getgtavbeta.com and betagtav.com, Take-Two currently has two more disputes in the offing.

The sites claim to offer early access beta keys to users who spread the scam via social media. In the case of gta5betacode.com , the user is asked to download files. The other site, grandtheftauto5beta.com , is currently offline.

The two complaints are filed with the World Intellectual Property Organization, and if Take-Two's previous successes are any indication, the offending sites will be removed soon.

Moiros Well it really does take someone stupid to use sites like those but that is exactly what makes it so "evil".

Scammers are smart and innovative when it comes to their ideas..

I agree, they target certain types of people that they know there scams will work on, for example younger kids

Cygnet Im glad they took them down..I only trust the original site, and or ask around before I know its legit.

Exactly, some people fall for the silliest tricks..

I think that it is really good that they are taking a stand against these sorts of sites as it shows that they care about the gaming community and are trying to protect the people. Hopefully they can quickly get the remaining scam sites terminated.
