2013 Wii U sales struggling

Nintendo's console sold just over 57,000 units in January, managing to increase that number to over 64,000 units in February. It has been a rough start of the year, with the console having one of the worst recorded sales of the new year compared to current-generation consoles (Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3). In comparison, the Xbox 360 was at top of the hardware charts with 302,000 units sold.

At the time of the launch the Wii U sold over 3 million units by the end of December, a decent launch that outpaced others in recent history, but sales have since fallen significantly as the console has suffered from a lack of new releases.

Overall hardware sales are down 36% compared to where they were last February in the U.S. due to many people waiting for the new generation consoles.

They are still making sales, which is still making them money, just not that much.

I think Nintendo should make something retro, they was a big hit like the 64, Super Nintendo etc. But thats because nothing like PlayStation or xbox was really out.

J-E-T-S The Wii U and Wii alike are both horrid gaming systems for actual gamers. They are alright for mess around less serious people, and families but for the majority of the gaming community they are just rubbish.


Really? that's why the Wii is the best selling console ever? The 360 sold the least out of Wii,PS3 and 360 so obviously it's the worst system?? The Wii easily outsold it by 30 million,i know yeah that's really a failure isn't it?? It was your "gaming comunity" that bought the Wii over the others because they knew it was better so how do you explain that?
Anyways if you were seriously into gaming you should have a really top spec PC as they will make PS4 and the new XBOX graphics and power look poor,as that's what the "vast minority" think matters more than anything else,although Nintendo has prooven once again that it's the quality and playability of the games that matter most not graphics.I'm suprised you have the time to play any games at all tbh,it seems a certain group of people must just sit and hit "refresh" on their browsers just hoping for another biased Wii U thread to pop up so they can moan and complain about it without even knowing any of the facts,quite sad really the amount of negativity.
