Rumor - Next gen consoles may allow developers to self patch games
The entire process means it is quite expensive to publish patches on these platforms. The rumor going around is that on the PS4 and the next xbox developers will be able to self-publish patches due to the devices both having been built with the well established PC x86 architecture. Keep checking back for details on their rumors here at TheTechGame!

SoulfulCompliance Yeah, no more glitching :)
It's a good and bad thing.
good thing is patches will be out super fast, bad thing is (for modders) glitches will be around for a shorter time

This is true, but glitching kind of keeps the game alive a few months in.. haha

HallAmendmentEMT No more glitches :'(
Thats true, i hope they don't do this :(
Glitches are what make the game fun after dulling down the first few months..
Not game breaking ones, those ruin the game for those of us who play legit.

Developers has always patch their own game. It's been like that for a long time. Doing this will not mean the patch will release faster. The developers will have to find the fix for the patch, fix it and compress the files and then send it to the console's company like Sony or Microsoft and they'll check if it doesn't affect their update restrictions or rules (what ever you want to call it).

Well, can't say that completely. There will still be mods/glitches, they will just be patched quicker than usual.
haha yeah it will, and that will probably cause an outbreak of attempts to hack even more.
