Microsoft to discontinue the Gold Family Pack

4.3

Microsoft has confirmed to Joystiq that they have discontinued the popular Gold family pack. What this means for current Family gold pack customers is that their family center settings management suite is still available for them... at this time.

When asked why this bundle which for just $99.99 gave the user four year long gold subscriptions they responded the following:

"We continually evaluate our business focus and work to offer services that make the most sense for our customers and Xbox."

Super_Saiyan Microsoft is really screwing the Xbox 720 and themselves at this point.

I don't know... how many people actually used this?

This was always a good deal i thought, its BS that they got rid of it, some people can't afford life so for a family. It really would be better and save them money, come on Microsoft, atleast have SOME good deals. You barly do anything for the people besides every now adn then give out a gold weekend, then its back to the basics. They should have kept this, I think they may have even lost a few customers.

Thank god I renewed this three weeks ago lol, all you have to do is get three friends to pitch in 25$ and you get a year for pretty cheap

This is why I stopped playing xbox because you have to pay to play online but Ps3 you don't that's why I switched.

Was it a requirement to have all accounts on the same console? If not, then you and 3 friends probably could just pool $25 each and get Live for half off.

Axe wait, why was it so cheap for them? was there any difference between regular accounts and family plan accounts?

A normal gold is about 50 bucks for a year right but family pack got u 4 gold accounts for 100 bucks a year idk if this correct or not but this is what i always thought it was
