6.1.3 iOS update could undo your iPhone 5 Jailbreak.

4.7
During the weekend, Team Evad3rs released their newest update for the most popular iPhone 5 jailbreak in existence, evasi0n. But, it appears that this update could be its last, as sources report that Apple's newest patch, 6.1.3, could end evasi0n's effectiveness from here on out.

One of evasi0n's creators, David Wang, says that the developer version of the patch eliminates one of the five bugs necessary for evasi0n to run — a vital exploit hidden within the system's time zone settings. Any untethered phone that attempts to patch their system will effectively prevent evasi0n from working at all, re-jailing the phone again. This patch also ends the updates and support for the month-old untethering software that finally freed the iPhone 5 from carriers. Any new or updated phones natively running the newest version of the OS will not be able to access any of evasi0n's capabilities.

Right now, evasi0n remains one of the most popular jailbreaking softwares, gathering a hefty 7 million downloads in the first four days of being online. It has taken Apple three weeks to respond to the jailbreak on the developer end, but it's more likely that the patch will hit consumers sometime within the next month. The patch will also fix the lockscreen bug on the iPhone that allows anyone to gain access via brute force to locked phones.

Hall Jailbreak has always been better than the real deal.

I disagree, the only thing JB has better than jailed is free apps and themes. And if you really want an app that costs money ask a friend that has it to log onto their apple account on your iPhone/iPod and then they can download it. JailBreaking just slows down the phone and stores all of its data in a reserved area meant for updates.

Why don't apple and Saurik just team up and make a business deal? It'd be a hell of a profit for both, and a lot more happy customers. As long as piracy was kept illegal, I'm sure a compromise could be reached at some point.

ExoticWolfs If it does it shouldn't take long for a new one to come out. :) I'm not worried at all.

If they have to start from scratch it may take a year.

I was on 4.1.3 before I got 6.1, just don't upgrade...

The jailbreak was rubbish anyway. Makes the phone WAY too slow and unusable... Was hoping they'd bring out another jailbreak but it looks pretty unlikely now
