Elden Ring's Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC Is In "QA" Stage

Elden Ring's long-awaited DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, might finally be with us soon. As spotted by fans online, the DLC was just mentioned in an update to Elden Ring's Steam page, revealing that it's in the "quality assessment" phase.

It's not clear if this means that it will be available to the public soon, but it's the first official mention of Shadow of the Erdtree we've had in some time. This also aligns with speculation that the DLC will launch this month, since this would mark two years since Elden Ring launched.

This latest development was shared on Reddit by user hsuhs_. As you can see over on Steam DB, a new Elden Ring file has been listed as being in "QA release", indicating that the devs are testing some sort of update for the game. Given other developments in the backend, we have good reason to believe that this is indeed Shadow of the Erdtree

If you move over the DLC tab on Elden Ring's Steam DB page, you'll see a bunch of already-release updates listed. Yet ten days ago, another one was added, simply titled: "SteamDB Unknown App 2778580". Now, with this news alongside another mysterious update being put through quality assurance, it's very likely that Shadow of the Erdtree is poised to launch soon, possibly even in time for Elden Ring's second birthday.

Since that Reddit post shared the news of the Steam DB update, many more changes to Elden Ring's game files have been made. So, whatever this file ends up being, FromSoftware certainly has something cooking for Elden Ring's two-year anniversary, and all evidence points to it being Shadow of the Erdtree at long last.

For Elden Ring fans, this won't come a moment too soon. As many of us have long beaten the game, some are challenging themselves to come up with the most bizarre runs possible. Famously, this has included beating bosses on a dance pad - or even beating two runs at once on different controllers. Most recently, we covered the fan who's playing Elden Ring while rolling around in real life every time their character rolls in-game. It looks absolutely exhausting, but it will elevate you to the ranks of Elden Ring players who aim to make the already difficult game as challenging as humanly possible. Hopefully, Shadow of the Erdtree will prove challenging enough in its own right.
