Minecraft update 1.5 is set to arrive in "early March". That is coming from a Twitter update from Minecraft lead developer Jens Bergensten (Jeb_). Jeb says the PC update will be live in "roughly two weeks" placing it near the week of March 10.
1.5, or as it is also known, the Redstone Update, will address the redstone ore, giving it variable signal strength in addition to a new capacitor block, and a new ore found in the Nether. This Update also fixes the south-east rule glitch.

Yeah, it's a small one.
Are you joking? Most MP servers are having to restart because of this patch/update. The new ore in the nether plus redstone wiring changes is going to completely change how people build contraptions. Many servers are actually skeptical about this update due to how much it will reset online servers and communities back to a square one.
