Here’s what the blurb originally stated:
Star Wars Outlaws, the open world Star Wars game, is set to release late this year. The game lets you explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. You can risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.
Ubisoft has since corrected the statement so that any reference to ‘late 2024′ have been removed, explaining to Kotaku that the timing was inaccurate and therefore amended. The post now simply confirms, as previously reported, that Star Wars Outlaws will arrive in 2024.
Star Wars Outlaws is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Ubisoft Massive, the game’s developer, previously revealed that the upcoming sci-fi title will not be a 200 – 300 hour RPG, describing the project as ‘very manageable.’ Furthermore, it will allow players to (among many other things) work for the notorious Jabba the Hutt or even betray him.
