EA exec: It is unlikely the next Xbox will play Xbox 360 games

An executive for Electronic Arts has recently claimed that we should not expect Xbox 360 games to run on the next-gen Xbox, nor should owners of the next Playstation expect to play PS3 games on the PS4.

Sources report that EA chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen, said "An important thing to remember is that next-gen consoles will most likely not be backwards compatible… And if you play multiplayer on a game, you'll most likely not be able to play with someone on a different generation."

Yeah, I have quite a few odd games sitting around, not worth anything at EB games, they give you like $1 per game.


Its a new era in gaming systems.

ME0W If they copy sony and make it so you can play preowned games, maybe they will make the 720 play 360 games too, because i figured they said it would not play 360 games because they would not have the patent to block preowned games.


If Sony does something MS most likely will copy, to stay competitive.

I know right? It will be a killer feature if you compare the ps4 and the next gen xbox.

Compliance I hope they change their minds. More people would buy the consoles if they did this.


Yeah, of course, I don't even see why PS4 doesn't allow it, maybe because they want more money from new games, but more consoles = more cash, than more game sales.
