iOS 6.0/6.1 Jailbreak Released!

4.5

The team at evad3rs has recently released a project known as evasi0n. It is an untethered jailbreak for iOS devices, including the newly released iPhone 5.

They have launched it for Linux, Mac OSx, and Windows. Covering the ground with their operating systems, this works for almost every device running iOS 6.0 and 6.1. Excluding Apple TV (3rd Gen).

The instructions for this jailbreak are extremely simple. With the jailbreak getting more complex each and every time, it's good to see the team has kept it extremely simple for the users experience. You simply connect your device and click the extremely obvious button labeled "Jailbreak".

Evasi0n Jailbreak

Requirements:
  • USB Cable
  • 5 minutes of your time
  • A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64)
  • An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version)

  • Although this process seems extremely easy, they provide a lot of support on their site which can be found below, along with their twitter handles.

    Special Thanks To:
    @evad3rs are @pod2G, @planetbeing, @Surenix, @phoenixdev, @MuscleNerd, @pimskeks, @chronicdevteam and @iphone_dev.

Everyone calm down, it works like a charm!
It was short, simple, and worked all perfect no problems.
(Except for the overloaded servers trying to add sources)

This is cool, but don't do it, my jailbroken ipod's battery life is terrible because of it.

Are you sure it's because of this?

Yeah same here. I don't want to get rid of the warranty.

    Can't we restore it?
