Microsoft is teasing plans for some major Xbox announcements at December’s The Game Awards.

In promotional materials distributed this week, the company said “important announcements” are planned for the event, along with other exciting Xbox news.

It wrote: “Celebrate the best games of the year and the big winners live at The Game Awards on 7. December at 19:30 ET / 4:30PM PT / 12:30A+1 GMT along with important announcements and other Xbox news that you don’t want to miss!”

Microsoft previously used 2019’s The Game Awards to unveil the Xbox Series X console and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

Legal documents published inadvertently in September potentially laid bare key elements of the company’s gaming strategy for years to come, including plans to launch a redesigned Xbox Series X console, codenamed ‘Brooklin’, in 2024.

The Game Awards 2023 will be streamed live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles next week.

Last year’s ninth edition of the annual event was a major production featuring musical performances from an on-stage orchestra and Hozier, celebrity guests, an awards show, new game reveals and more.

Major announcements included the long-anticipated reveals of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2 and BioShock creator Ken Levine’s new game Judas.

Other new games announced on the night were Hades 2, a Bayonetta prequel, and Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.

Final Fantasy 16, Diablo 4, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League all received release dates, while Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarök were the biggest winners at the awards show.

Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 are both up for eight prizes at this year’s show, the joint most ahead of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is up for seven awards.

Frog Ah yes, this will be that "angelically all digital" console, or whatever nonsense they named it by. The only difference is a different shape and a larger HDD.

If only one could trust Microsoft for their digital games to be easily accessible... I honestly have no idea what 50% of the games I've bought over Xbox over the years are and there's no way to find them without specifically searching the marketplace for them.

Do you not just do this??

Usually, content that you buy appears in your games and apps and installs automatically. To check:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select My games & apps > See all.
Under Full library > Owned games, you'll see all games that you own with the profile that's signed in to the console.
If a game that you own hasn't been installed on your console, there's a download icon on the game title. Selecting the title prompts you to install the game before you can play it.

It doesn't show me any of the 360 content + DLC that I own, even if I bought it through a later Xbox console. Nor can I see some of the games I bought for the Xbox One in the earlier days.
