Blockbuster closing 300 US stores.

4.7
Well, it may be the end of an era for Blockbuster in the US, as Dish Network have recently announced that they will be closing 300 stores in the near future, which would mean around 3,000 jobs would be lost.

This announcement comes after the UK branch of Blockbuster filed its own bankruptcy, which then lead to 160 store closures out of 500 in the region.

So if you use Blockbuster's services to buy, or rent games; you may want to change your supplier. As time can't tell what will happen with Blockbuster in the future.

Feet All these places are getting phased out where you can rent a movie in a store. You can do all this online now.

Yeah, there's no point in ANY of these shops anymore, if you don't have a computer then i'd doubt you have a tv aswell so, yeah.

i hated working in blockbusters game rush, i also loved the company policy on shoplifters, which was you cant stop or touch them and must call corporate before calling the police unless endangered :( kids would come in with bags and just go down the new release isle's stuffing the bags full and then dip out of the store once they figured out the policies.
let alone the tricks with making money trading in 3 games getting a new release game for $30 instead of $60 and getting the credit for the traded 3 games and then going to a different store and trading in the new unopened game for $6o and buying 3 more used games for $20-30 and repeating the whole process over again i remember a 15 year old that had a game rush gift card with over $4,500 on it, he would buy systems from us and sell them on ebay after he got tired of filling up his gift card trading in games.

I don't understand why they need to close Blockbuster in Canada. Canadian netflix is horrible. I would rather go to Blockbuster than watch a movie on Netflix

bradbrad818 Netflicks messed them up :)

Especially with being able to watch a bunch of movies for only $8 a month, considering 1 movie at blockbuster would be like $6, which is a rip off.

Netflix + Piratebay = No Blockbuster

Ankoku Well with netflix and gamefly and steam. OF course people don't want to go out and get things anymore. It kind of shows just how lazy we are as people.

Very true, but it will always be easier using these new things.
