Sony patent may give redesigned Move some dangerous possibilities

4.5
Sony has recently filed a patent that details a method of determining the location of a PlayStation Move-like controller by using a sound capturing device. This patent details the two-dimensional light-tracking that the current Move devices uses along with sounds emitted from the controller itself, which will provide the controllers "depth" in association with the sound capture device on the TV.

The patent also includes several pictures that show the Move-like controller with swappable face plates for different button setups. There are also some pictures that show the ability to attach controllers to together in multiple ways. One of the illustrations is that shown above, that shows a child doing a bicycle kick while playing a soccer game. You can clearly see the controllers that are attached to his hands and legs. This could change the way simulation sports games are played forever.

Mortar Sounds like Sony are going all out to dominate this section of the gaming industry as fast as they can. If they pull this off, it could be brilliant.

Or it could fail... which I think it will. I think the majority of people rather play with a controller.
