Minecraft franchise sells 453K units on Christmas

4.8
It's Christmas, the presents have been opened, turkey and ham consumed – it's the midday lull. What to do? If you're like over 400,000 other people, you buy whatever version of Minecraft is handy. Across all available platforms, Minecraft sold 435,000 copies on December 25, according to the block maestro himself, Markus "Notch" Persson.

Be careful folks, that's not a festive, green holiday decoration – it's a Creeper.

Starify This game has gotten so big. I wonder when the game will be finished. :)

1.6 has been guaranteed, with 1.5 coming in Jan - Feb.
I don't know if many have noticed, but upcoming updates are all system upgrades and consuming less RAM updates. I'm sure updates as big as Beta 1.8 and 1.0 wont be coming back round.
But hopefully staying on one final version will mean Mod Creators can just settle down on that 1 version.
Probably end up on like 1.7

Not hard to believe that it sold that many honestly.
All the people who couldnt afford it during the year just want it more and more each day, so when they finally get some Microsoft points for christmas, they jump on it.

With the immense amount of content always being released, and the huge player base, I am certainly not suprised.
