Xbox helps man during home robbery

4.8
At a house in North Apollo, Derrick Shaffer was casually playing his Xbox, when the front door to his home opened. Derrick simply thought that a family member had come home, but instead found an armed man in a ski mask.
The armed robber bound Derrick with duct tape and zip ties while he robbed the house of money, jewels and several firearms. The robber then fled the house in a car belonging to Derrick's father.
Still tied up, Derrick managed to get to his Xbox headset and get the friend he was playing online with to call the police.
It's good to hear that playing video games had actually helped somebody for once. So if anyone ever complains that your wasting time playing Xbox, tell them it could help save your life in an emergency situation!

If he was in a party, he could have just yelled.. then again if one of my friends did that I'd take it as a joke.

Imagine being in an xboxlive party with your friends, while the situation is real , it'll be a joke to them.

Activ8 I had imagined a scenario like this before, not even lying. But I don't think anybody playing with me would believe me to call 911 lol.

bby This is amazing. If I was playing with someone and they told me to do that I'd think they're playing a trick on me though.

This is the sad truth, but I think people would be able to tell if you were serious by tone of voice, breathing, rate of speech, etc. This isn't the first time Xbox stopped a criminal. I remember some dumbf*ck broke into a kid's house, stole his Xbox, and got on. The kid was at his friend's house and saw that he signed in. That lead to the robber getting caught. People should never underestimate the power of voice communication, or even text if you can manage a remote tied up, or have a chatpad.
