PlayStation's recently revealed handheld remote-play device, currently known as Project Q, will reportedly have a pretty shocking battery life. According to a new report from industry insider Tom Henderson, the device will only last between 3 and 4 hours.

There are currently very minimal details surrounding PlayStation's next handheld device, as it was only revealed a matter of days ago during the studio's most recent showcase. We do, however, know that this device will be built specifically for remote play. "Later this year, we will launch a dedicated device that enables you to stream any game from your PS5 console using remote play over WiFi," PlayStation's CEO Jim Ryan announced at the showcase.



Exactly why the device may only have a battery life of 3-4 hours is unknown, considering it doesn't have any internal specs to run a game natively from the device. However, the rumored battery life of Project Q is exactly that, a rumor. Although we recommend taking these details with a pinch of salt for the time being, Henderson did leak the device before its official reveal, which confirms his sources are indeed legit.

Also leaked by Henderson and revealed at the recent PlayStation showcase were the new PlayStation earbuds, which will bring "next-generation audio immersion to PS5 and PC," Jim Ryan announced. PlayStation's CEO went on to say that the earbuds can simultaneously connect to smartphones via Bluetooth. And thanks to new wireless technology, the earbuds will deliver lossless audio with low latency.

Aside from the fact that these new accessories will be launching later this year, a concrete release window was not shared. However, Henderson claims that Project Q is aiming for mid to late-November launch. More details on both the PlayStation earbuds and Project Q will be shared soon, according to Jim Ryan.
