That’s according to Assassin’s Creed dataminer and serial leaker j0nathan, who discussed the alleged release date in a YouTube video this week.
While he claimed the release date is currently fixed internally, he suggested it could yet shift by a few weeks (although to no later than November) if it clashes with the launch of another major game which has been yet to be announced.
Ubisoft has reportedly delayed Assassin’s Creed Mirage at least twice, after initially targeting a late 2022 or early 2023 release.
Following a series of leaks, Ubisoft confirmed last September that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next game in the series.
Officially set for release in 2023, Mirage takes place in 9th century Baghdad and is described as a “special tribute to the first Assassin’s Creed”.
With gameplay focused on parkour, stealth and assassinations, it marks a return to the action-adventure style of Assassin’s Creed games released prior to the more expansive RPG-style series entries Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla.
Development of the game is being led by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Wrath of the Druids expansion.
Ubisoft said on Tuesday that around 2,000 developers are currently working on the Assassin’s Creed series, out of a total workforce of about 20,000, but that it plans to increase that number to 2,800 over the coming years.
