Modern Warfare 4 rumour shot down by Captain Price voice actor

4.5
Billy Murray, the voice actor behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Captain Price, has shot down reports that he recently confirmed a fourth entry in the blockbuster FPS series is in the works at Infinity Ward.

Late last month he was said to have told a fan that he was set to hold a meeting with the studio regarding a "straight" Modern Warfare sequel.
Responding to the widespread reporting of his comments, Infinity Ward said shortly afterwards: "Interesting news today, but it's not true. We've not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation."

And now Murray has joined in the debate on Twitter, implying that the work he was referring to in his original comments was related to the free-to-play Call of Duty game being developed exclusively for the Chinese market.

"This article is not accurate," he said. "I told the guy I was doing a special new Modern Warfare for China, not MW4.

"The guy I spoke to on the plane was very nice and I'm really pleased he loves the game but the facts have got a bit confused somewhere.

"Also I couldn't have said I was meeting them Monday as I was on a Monday evening flight to London! Sorry for the confusion!"

Nevertheless, a Modern Warfare sequel from Infinity Ward or co-developer Sledgehammer Games for release in 2013 remains a strong possibility.

There will always be a next Call of Duty, he probably does not want people telling him what to add onto the game, or does not want death threats from Non Cod players

I agree entirely. They're in need of change; a new game engine, different name, different view so to speak.

Fix i think there will be a mw4 still, i don't think IW will take the time to make a hole new series that will most likely have to be on a new engine.

"New engine" they have been using the same engine still cod 4 for every cod. They won't take the time to make a new engine they are too money hungry.

as much as i like cod, they should work on their engine.i could see them making a new engine and possibly a new series for the next xbox.

MW2 and MW3 are not on the same engine as COD4. Granted, it's similar, but the later games have a slightly altered version of the engine.

This doesn't take away from the fact that the engine is a steaming pile of rodent feces, but nonetheless...

I to think there will be another MW released once again next year in November. I've been a fan of Call of duty since cod3 and i'm sad to see a great series driven into the ground by money hungry executives.
