Microsoft: Four million Windows 8 upgrades so far

4.6
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has confirmed here at the BUILD 2012 developer keynote that since Friday, the official launch of Windows 8, the company has already sold four million Windows 8 software upgrades.

That's certainly not a bad start for Windows 8 but at the same time, most people will likely still stick with their current Windows OS and wait to buy a new PC to get Windows 8. On that front, Ballmer says that sales of Windows 8 products are good so far.

TTG_hobo1337 everyone has been hating on windows 8!

Its because most people with a laptop or desktop dont want it to look like a tablet, Windows 8 looks like it was completely made for tablets.

8th Wait wasnt this a mandatory update? So of course everyone is going to update to Windows 8

Yea I think so lol, why are they bragging?

No they mean four million have upgraded, as in bought windows 8. It was not an update, that would not be a good statistic to show.

3arpy3ka Honestly, I can never see this OS being useful on a PC. This should just stay to tablets and Windows Phones.

I completely agree with you

DGTGlobalTeam Just wondering whether to get Windows 8 or not, hmm

Windows is very different from the other Windows, I haven't tried it yet but if you want to stay with the more classic Windows style, you should stay with Windows 7
