Resident Evil 4 Remake Locking Some Content Behind Deluxe Edition

3.6
The Resident Evil 4 remake is reportedly locking some collectible treasures behind its Deluxe Edition. Although the gameplay shown for Resident Evil 4 has the game shaping up to be a fantastic remake that gives a faithful but different take on the original title, knowing that content, even if a little bit of it, is locked behind DLC can put a slight damper on some fans' excitement.

There is overall a lot to look forward to when the Resident Evil 4 remake launches on March 24, with scrapped enemies from the original Resident Evil 4 adding more variety to the foes Leon will face during his mission. Until now, there has not been much cause for concern about how the game will turn out, and even then, gating some treasures behind a paywall is not a massive loss but can be seen as strange.

PCGamesN reported this discovery when looking at the page for Resident Evil 4 on the Xbox store. The description for the treasure map that comes with the Deluxe Edition reads that alongside getting the map, additional treasures not in the Standard Edition will be placed throughout the game for players to find. Even the article's author seemed somewhat dismayed by this news, stating that the collector in them is a little sad over having some collectibles unavailable unless they pay for a more premium version of the game.

That being said, this exclusion for standard players will likely not ruin their experience with the game, since the author acknowledges that money will not be a struggle to obtain if the game's economy is fairly lenient like the original. Given the initial reservations Resident Evil 4's directors had about remaking the original due to the reverence they hold for the original, it is safe to say that money will still be a common commodity like in the 2005 release, and players will likely obtain a healthy amount that is used to upgrade their arsenal at a good pace.

Outside this arguably strange discovery about the Deluxe Edition, the game is looking to be a successful title when it comes out. Gameplay that has been shown off has been well-received, and with the delay of several titles outside March, not much competition awaits Resident Evil 4 when it launches. If the title does live up to expectations, it will potentially spark a discussion on whether it or the Dead Space remake is the best horror title of the year, and the exclusion of some treasures from the base version will be a minor fact that only hurts Resident Evil 4 a little.

Resident Evil 4 will come out on March 24 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

sounds like it's not that really important to get the locked content

I surely won't be caring for the content

That wouldn't bother me at all. I generally consider collectibles to detract from my enjoyment of games.

Once again adding nothing to the post with a pointless comment. What's the point in commenting on news posts like its your job?

You'd probably not be surprised how many users have echoed similar sentiments over the past couple of months since I've been going for this All Time High. I wonder how many years this has gone on for!
