Cyberpunk 2077 PC Update Enables DLSS Support

4.2
Cyberpunk 2077 just got a significant PC update, enabling players with the right set-up to play at higher resolutions without sacrificing performance. The update works by allowing support for NVIDIA DLSS 3, giving players another way to boost the visuals in Cyberpunk 2077 and reach higher framerates.

This comes as CD Projekt Red continues to develop Cyberpunk, even more than two years since launch. However, it also comes as development moves away from last-gen platforms, suggesting that enhancements to modern setups like this are the developer's focus going forward.

In other games, DLSS support has helped remove stuttering when playing in higher resolutions - something that can be sorely needed when playing Cyberpunk 2077 on older builds. Even with the various patches and hotfixes that have rolled out since launch, the game's performance can still drop in densely populated areas, so with any luck, this update means more players won't have to sacrifice the visuals to keep things running smoothly.

"Playing Cyberpunk 2077 with the AI-powered performance of NVIDIA DLSS 3 is the best way to access the stunning visuals the game has to offer," says CD Projekt Red art director, Jakub Knapik. "This technology helps us take a new step toward combining unconstrained visual fidelity with exceptional performance."

For those of you wondering, CDPR is still working on the previously announced RTX "overdrive" update for Cyberpunk 2077. There's no word on when we can expect this to be rolled out, but CDPR tells us it will "take the game's ray tracing to new heights" when it releases.

Despite this, many fans in the replies are hoping that the next announcement from CDPR will be concerning the DLC, Phantom Liberty. While it was announced months ago, we haven't been given many more details on the first and only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.

As of the time of writing, Phantom Liberty is simply set to launch at some point this year. In further bad news for those of you playing on last gen, it will be exclusive to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, skipping Xbox One and PS4 altogether.

CalicoReidso great to see the update enabling support

I'm surprised it wasn't enabled at the launch. It was the graphics causing problems the gameplay back then i believe.

Runts From how the game started I'd say it went well at the end and is still getting updates

Yeah, it seemed to pick up about a year after launch. I think sales even broke some records at some point!

Hahaha seemingly worlds apart from the launch!
I'm not too surprised they cut the DLC from the older gen given the problems they had on release.
