Resident Evil 6 ships over 4.5 million copies worldwide

4.5 million copies of Resident Evil 6 shuffled onto retail shelves worldwide for the game's launch, Capcom today announced. Along with the shipment figures, the company revealed a total of 50 million sales for the Resident Evil franchise as of June 2012.

Of course, shipping figures are not the same as sales figures, but that doesn't stop Capcom from proclaiming the numbers prove Resident Evil is "just as popular today as it was 15 years ago when the first title made its debut." Our review of Resident Evil 6, along with the overall consensus of the press and indications from the public, suggests current popularity isn't so clear cut.

just picked the game up last night.
im currently on leons chapter 2.
And so far i must say im impressed.
its actually pretty good in my opinion.
The only thing i dont like is there seems to be no
awesome puzzles yet like in the older ones.
or atleast i have not came across any yet.

I'd say that the game is great, I'll be writing a game review for it soon so you can check that one out when I actually do. But for now if you're a fan of the series then I'd definitely recommend it.. If you haven't played 4 & 5 I'd read up a bit on it first because 6 doesn't do it's self any help with introducing new players.. IMO.
