Xbox Game Pass Has 17 Games Nominated at The Game Awards This Year

Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service has a whopping 17 games nominated for awards at The Game Awards this year, with 16 of those games playable right now. Microsoft was especially aggressive with Xbox Game Pass this year, regularly adding brand-new, day one releases and a slew of high-quality games. It seems this effort has paid off, if The Game Awards nominees are any indication.

The Game Awards are scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 8, and as usual, they will bestow honors on the year's best games while also making big world premiere announcements. This year's Game Awards will be shorter than normal, but it should still have plenty of big reveals and exciting moments for gamers to look forward to.

In the meantime, those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription handy can actually play a decent chunk of the games nominated for awards this year through their subscription. A Memoir Blue, A Plague Tale: Requiem, As Dusk Falls, Citizen Sleeper, Dune: Spice Wars, Immortality, Metal: Hellsinger, No Man's Sky, Norco, Return to Monkey Island, Scorn, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Total War: Warhammer 3, Tunic, Two Point Campus, and Vampire Survivors are all readily available to play on Game Pass right now.

A Memoir Blue - 1 nomination
A Plague Tale: Requiem - 5 nominations
As Dusk Falls - 2 nominations
Citizen Sleeper - 1 nomination
Dune: Spice Wars - 1 nomination
Immortality - 3 nominations
Metal: Hellsinger - 1 nomination
No Man's Sky - 1 nomination
Norco - 1 nomination
Return to Monkey Island - 1 nomination
Scorn - 1 nomination
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge - 2 nominations
Total War: Warhammer 3 - 1 nomination
Tunic - 1 nomination
Two Point Campus - 1 nomination
Vampire Survivors - 1 nomination
Starfield - Most Anticipated

Another day one Xbox Game Pass game has been nominated at The Game Awards this year, but it won't be playable until some point in 2023. Bethesda's open world sci-fi RPG Starfield is scheduled to launch in 2023, and it's up for the Most Anticipated award at this year's show. This brings the total of Xbox Game Pass games nominated for awards at The Game Awards 2022 to 17, which underlines the undeniable value that the service brings to the table.

With 2022 proving to be a massive year for Xbox Game Pass, it will be interesting to see if Microsoft is able to top itself with the 2023 offerings. There are already many exciting Xbox Game Pass games announced for 2023, so barring any delays, next year could potentially the biggest year for Microsoft's subscription service to date.
