FIFA 13 Ultimate Team back online, perma-bans issued over exploit

4.5
The FIFA 13 Ultimate Team web app is back online after EA took it down to address an exploit and "ensure a level playing field for all users".

The exploit in question let what EA calls "a very small number" of players access restricted card packs featuring rare stars like Messi and Ronaldo and sell them on for a profit.
Some disgruntled fans have been calling for a reset to the FUT servers in order to rebalance the in-game economy, but EA made no mention of plans to take such a measure in an update on the EA Sports Twitter feed.

"The FIFA Ultimate Team Web App is back up and running," it said.

"Yesterday, a very small number of users attempted to gain an unfair advantage on the FUT Web App. The FUT13 Web App had to be taken offline to be stabilized and ensure a level playing field for all FUT users.

"Permanent bans for FIFA 13 FUT have been served to all users who attempted to gain an unfair advantage. Thanks for your patience while we create the best experience for all fans of FUT."

EA has confirmed a FIFA 13 release date of September 25 in the US, September 27 in Europe and September 28 in the UK.

EA Sports Season Ticket subscribers can get early digital access to the game on September 21 in the US and the following day in Europe.

GamesMaster gave the footy title 91% and called it the "best football game ever" in the first FIFA 13 review.

Frog I think they are taking it a bit far. It's a glitch that they left open and they should of fixed it. They expect people just to leave it alone and not take things for free. I didn't do this but I still think it is wrong that the punishment is so harsh. I would get a refund of the game and never play it again.

Well I mean they didn't leave it there in purpose, obviously. Why would they want people to use a exploit?

Tbf you're stupid if you though you could get away with it and why does the UK get Fifa last? Surely we buy the most copies of Fifa more than any other country
