iPhone 5 lands over two million pre-orders in first 24 hours

4.4
iPhone 5 pre-orders topped two million units in just 24 hours.

That's more than double the previous record of one million held by iPhone 4S, according to Apple.
While the company says the majority of pre-orders "will be delivered" to customers in time for the iPhone release date of September 21, it adds that "many are scheduled to be delivered in October".

"iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

"iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we've ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do."

iPhone 5 features a bigger screen than its predecessors, a smaller dock connector and metal casing, along with enhanced first-party apps via the new iOS 6 update, and significantly faster processors which Apple says makes it capable of playing "console quality" games.

Amazing how a week ago, Apple stocks were 580 a share and now they are well over 700 dollars.

Note This is a waste of money. It's only slightly larger, has 4G, and maybe a *slight* upgrade to the RAM/CPU/Motherboard. Barely noticeable probably.
I'd say it isn't worth the money till either a few weeks after sale, or a few months.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Wins for me.

Funny thing is the iPhone 5 is barely below the S3 and at a 1.5% difference, which is barely noticeable. Also, how much does Samsung pay to create an S3, I'm sure it's not over $85.

How would you know though? You have never used one in hand before? That is like saying the PS6 is obviously better than a PS1.
