Wild Hearts First Trailer Reveals Gameplay And Release Date

4.1
Earlier this month, Electronic Arts officially announced that it has partnered with Japanese studio Omega Force through the company's EA Originals program to publish a new hunting game. Today, the publisher officially shared the first look at Wild Hearts.

As expected, Wild Hearts is going to be a similar experience to Capcom's incredibly popular Monster Hunter franchise, and the first trailer of the game confirms it to a high degree. The core gameplay circles around hunting giant monsters in a fantasy world, where up to three players can join together in the co-op mode. The reveal trailer teases many giants and monsters, but it remains unknown how big the game's world would be and how many monsters have been designed for launch.

In addition to fighting monsters, Wild Hearts seems to feature a unique crafting system that allows players to build certain structures on the battlefield and use them to traverse faster or damage the monster, similarly to the structures that you can build in Fortnite.

Omega Force already has the experience of working on hunting games with the Toukiden series, but studio director Takuto Edagawa revealed in an interview with IGN that the team decided to work on a brand-new IP rather than a sequel to Toukiden, as they wanted to reach a broader audience with this new project.

According to developers, Wild Hearts will use a zone-based open-world system, where the entire world has been divided into multiple zones, and players can fully explore each zone in the game and hunt monsters.

Despite showing a glimpse of the gameplay, the developer has promised to share an extended look at the game on October 5. Wild Hearts targets a release on February 17, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. According to Omega Force, the game has been in development for over 4 years.

Omega Force has decided to ditch the last-gen consoles to use the power of current-gen platforms to represent the beauty of a feudal Japan at its finest in Wild Hearts. According to the developers, they have benefited from EA's experience in the western market to make some changes that make Wild Hearts a suitable game for a global audience.
