Assassin's Creed Mirage Price is Lower Than Expected

3.7
Ubisoft has put all three editions of Assassin's Creed Mirage up for pre-order on its official site, with the game coming in at a lower price point than many have expected. Assassin's Creed Mirage was leaked last week, with Ubisoft quickly acting by giving the game its official announcement. The full reveal then took place at the Ubisoft Forward event, where the company showed off Assassin's Creed Mirage's gameplay mechanics and more.

Assassin's Creed Mirage players more like an old-school AC game as opposed to the massive open world RPGs that the newer games in the series play like. Launching at an undetermined point next year, Assassin's Creed Mirage is set in Baghdad and features Basim as the main playable protagonist. More on Assassin's Creed Mirage should be revealed in the months leading up to its release, but those who are already excited to play the game can pre-order now.

For a modern triple-A game, Assassin's Creed Mirage is being sold cheaper than expected. Many brand-new games these days retail for $59.99, and sometimes even a whopping $69.99. However, the standard edition of Assassin's Creed Mirage costs $49.99. The last time that brand-new console games cost this much was the Wii era, so it's been quite some time. Those that want to opt for the Deluxe Edition will have to pay $59.99, while the Assassin's Creed Mirage Collector's Case is the most expensive at $149.99.

The full scope of what fans get in the more expensive editions of Assassin's Creed Mirage hasn't been revealed at the time of this writing, but according to the website, the Deluxe Edition comes with Prince of Persia cosmetics. The Collector's Case comes with a special case to the house the game along with a statue of AC Mirage protagonist Basim. Those that pre-order any version of the game will get an exclusive mission called The Forty Thieves Quest, so hardcore Assassin's Creed fans will want to keep that in mind.

Selling Assassin's Creed Mirage $10 to $20 cheaper than most triple-A games may reveal a lot about its scope. Ubisoft has been upfront about Assassin's Creed Mirage being smaller in scale than its open world RPG counterparts, and the lower-than-expected price point reflects that. It will be interesting to see just how short or long game ends up being when it launches next year, but it's safe to say the game won't be a massive undertaking like Assassin's Creed Odyssey or Valhalla.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
