Xbox 360 Essentials pack coming in October for $79.99

4.6
Just in time for the upcoming holiday rush, Microsoft has posted news of a new accessory pack, which will wrap up almost everything you need to accompany a new Xbox 360 into one $79.99 kit. The Xbox 360 Essentials pack will include a wireless controller, a media remote, an HDMI cable, and a three-month Xbox Live Gold membership.

Microsoft says you can save a full $55 by buying these items in the pack rather than separately, which does make us wonder where exactly they're shopping. But if you're giving a 360 this year (or know someone who's getting one and could use some extra gear), this might make a nice package under the celebratory symbol of your respective holiday.

Honestly, if you needed all of these this would be great, you will save quite a bit.

For all of you saying this is pointless and not worth it you're wrong.

AR15 The only thing that I would buy it for would be the Xbox remote. But I wouldn't pay $79.99 for a remote.

The remote i got didn't work so just watch out incase you are the same

Yeah I notice that! If the batteries died or something you have reset the entire thing and look up your tv's code again :/
79.99 IS Well over priced

Well you get other stuff with it!

3 Months >>> $20
Remote >>> $30
HDMI >>> $40

So you save like $10

You can get a HDMI for highest is 10 GBP on ebay so this is a rip off

I've seen what it looks like, maybe it was just the TV compared to mine, black ops (that's when I saw the HDMI in use) looked really clear!

What's the point in this unless you've just bought a second hand console without a controller and insufficient wires? Is this just a desperate attempt to advertise their crap in the market so that people who don't know about it will buy it for the younger generations in the family?

SovietRussia It's not even worth it. A controller 50 dollars and a remote 10 + the 3 month. It's not worth it unless you need everything in the package

Normally all of these accessories together would cost you about $ 135 dollars. Your saving yourself 55 bucks. It is worth it.

I would use the card, controller, and possibly the wires I would use the remote control if its for the Xbox and not the kinect or what ever crap it is.

The XBL gold starter pack came with a mic, chatpad, and a 12 month/1 year card. Not sure if that's exactly what was in it, but it was like $70-80. That's a deal

I miss the old days where PS2 accessories were a quarter of the price they are for Xbox things.
