Gamescom thieves pinch two demo PCs, dev offers $5000 reward

4.6
Thieves have made off with two PCs belonging to developer Larian, which contained early versions of two upcoming games.

The developer says the machines stored early builds of Divinity: Dragon Commander and Divinity: Original Sin, and is offering a $5000 reward to anyone who helps lead them to the culprits and the recovery of the PCs.
"If you have any information about the culprits, head to Business Hall 4.2, Booth A-16 to let the team know," asks the dev (via Kotaku).

The developer will no doubt be concerned over the possibility of their unreleased games being leaked online.

Not a great start to the expo.

Minecart I don't really understand this.. :/

basically, some thieves stole PCs that had in-development games on them.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened.

it's kinda their fault though because they should've had security in the first place.

Someone stole some PC's including some games that are unreleased as we can assume. How they did it no one knows.

Im sure we are all wondering surely you just cant pack and walk out with it someone must have saw it Gamescom is usually busy

LOL - If the developers were trying to show off the game. Likely the PCs have decent specs to play the games in 60+FPS. So likely the Systems alone will be worth a combine total of $5000+ Than you add in the 2 early-games, the total Estimated price is well over what the reward is.

But I do agree that someone had to have seen them walk off with the PCs or maybe the PCs were small Laptops.
