EA: digital sales will eventually overtake boxed games

4.4
In an interview with Reuters, Moore explained that while EA will move in the direction of digital sales as the market demands it, boxed software sales will continue as long as the market for it survives.
"There will come a point, whether it is two or three years from now, when we say 'we are doing more in digital media now than we are in physical media,' and it's clearly ... not far away," Moore said.

Reuters points out that EA's expected packaged goods revenue for the fiscal year ending March 2013 is $2.6 billion, with digital products expected to bring in $1.7 billion, while its digital revenue increased by 55 percent in the first quarter of that year.

Moore insisted that boxed media will stick around for a while, saying "we will never abandon physical media. As long as the consumer wants to buy something on a disc, we will be there to offer it."

M60 Id have no problem if it didnt take up so much room

I'd have no problem if they gave us some free cloud storage. But no, we gotta buy it. Then buy some more when it runs out.

Yup it sucks when you have to buy more memory.

i've never had to, i have 250 GB on my xbox.

I have the same thing. It's running out of memory though.

I know, they charge for it, then they charge you more for some more memory when you run out.

it's stupid because i can't back up my phone thru iCloud, just because i don't have enough memory.

I was going to get it for my iPod, but I don't have enough money either. At least give us some free space for more songs, I'm running out of room.

Mazur Digital video games will be sooo much easier, they'll be conveniently placed right on your Hard Drive, or Cloud storage, and will cost less as well :D

I never thought of the cloud storage idea, but another problem with that is what if your internet gets disrupted and with all hacking issues and what not, people will most likely choose the safer yet less than easier choice. I see your stance on it though, and I like the idea with the hard drive.

when you look at it that way, then it still seems best to go with an expensive boxed game.

It sucks that they make cloud storage cost money :l

If it was free I'd be using that.

Apple charges money for more Cloud storage, it's ridiculous.
