Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD sells 120k copies in first week

4.6
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD sold approximately 120,000 copies on Xbox Live Arcade in its first week of availability.

Josh Tsui, president of developer Robomodo, told Gamasutra that day-over-day sales of the game are "staying very consistent" thanks to good word of mouth between Xbox 360 owners. "People are [also] more apt to try games that are smaller and downloadable," he suggested.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD costs 1200 MS Points (£10.28) on XBLA. It's due for release on PS3 in August and PC later this year.

On day 1, I was able to get 500 on leaderboards. Now I get only like 5000. If I try hard, I know I can get really high up again. There are some glitchers and hackers that ruin it. I don't think in game cheats count towards your leaderboard.

Having only played THPS3, and every game between THUG2 and Proving Ground, I don't know how the true THPS1/2 engine feels as I only played THPS1 one time (a long a$s time ago too). If you keep grinding a rail or from rail to rail, you don't gain speed. You actually start to go slower. Or if you go at a slow speed and start grinding something, you don't gain speed, but just maintain your speed or get slower.

The engine feels like it can be smoother and it's a bit sluggish. Definitely takes getting used to. I think it's just a true THPS1/THPS2 engine.

I have to agree. A skating game would get kind of boring because you could just go do it in real life :D
