The next Xbox Dashboard update with internet explorer beta testing opens

You probably want to be one of the first people to explore the internet on your Xbox 360, right? Well, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb just posted up instructions for how to be that dude – all you have to do is sign up for the upcoming Xbox Live Dashboard update beta.

Beyond the opportunity to explore the internet from the comfort of your couch, you'll also get "personalized dashboard recommendations" (whatever that means), and "enhanced category search and discovery features."

Like with so many betas, participants won't be able to write about their experience or take pictures or anything like that until the required non-disclosure agreement expires. But hey, you'll be part of a super secret club, so there's something.

Update: Looks like the beta's full up, y'all. Congrats to those who got in!

They have already started to release the beta update. So ive been told. It kind of sucks that the Browser has to be IE but I guess it's better than having nothing. :/


yes its already out to the people who registered in time,im one of them.the ie isn't bad at all(on 360).and the pins are kinda nice,its like having all you favorite games and apps in a favorites folder right below your play game square(when you have a cd in).

Finally, lol it took Microsoft long enough to decide on whether or not to add an Internet explorer. I mean there's not much of a demand for it by Xbox LIVE users but it's still a plus to having an Xbox LIVE account.

Xbox 360 has a dash update like every 2 months with small and big changes. but i recall PS3 having the same DB since PS2.

PS will there be pr0n lol :P
