GTA 5 will not be shown at Gamescom

Speculation over the its highly anticipated project's appearance at Europe's biggest games event has intensified in recent weeks, due in part to an official Gamescom trailer which featured a snippet of footage from Rockstar North's next crime opus.
But a spokesperson for Gamescom has told CVG that the Grand Theft Auto V footage was included "in error".

Franko Fischer, communications manager of Gamescom's organising body Koelnmesse, said "Rockstar Games is not scheduled and has never been scheduled to exhibit at Gamescom 2012".

He said that all GTA V footage has now been removed from the Gamescom trailer.

"We apologise for any confusion this may have caused," he added.

Fischer was nevertheless upbeat about the show's appeal to the games market. He said there would be numerous world premieres and surprise reveals at the show.

"Although GTA 5 won't be at the show, I think we will once again have the most spectacular world premieres set for the events," he added.

About seven months have passed since Rockstar sent shockwaves across the industry with a surprise GTA 5 trailer.

Since then, aside from two GTA V screenshots, there has been little information on the new project.

Gamescom begins August 15th and runs throughout the week.

Think of it like this guys.... Maybe its a good thing that their really holding back on this one because if the game IS as good as everyone thinks it is, then we could just wonder what the games contents are, thinking its amazing!!, and if we dont think that it meet up to our expectations, then just give it a slightly lower rating when the game comes out!... i meen they must be holding back for a VERY valid reason right?! Especially as they arent telling us why......

To be honest the majic of the game being reliest is just sicological, and because its been so long the majics fading.. but at the end of the day, im starting to see that the realies date/dates getting closer is a good thing.. and yer as i said if its not how you emagined it then give it a lower rating than you expected..

Lets be honest.. Rockstar make some Damn good games so in my opinion i think the games guna be sick!!! but ive desided to be EXTREMELY passiont about it..... because theres no point in mouning that "i want it to come out" because its just making the demand of the game worse..

All im saying is.. dont make the game turn into Call Of Duty because they reliese a game every year making it worse... and bf3 took ages!!.. making it amazing!!! (some may agree or dissagree on that) but guys,, be passiont, im sure you dont what them to feel pressured into reliesing it earily.. because then the game has a very strong chance of being rubbish..

If you were drawing a Fantastic peace of art work that you wanted to perfect and to make you dribal at it when you see it, Oh!! and not forgeting over 15million people wanted more info on it because its that F!ing amazing, then if you where that artist surely you'd tell them to get lost and say im perfecting it so its overall fantastic....... im NOT taking them two releist screen shots for granted...

Yeah i'm curious too, maybe the game might come out until next year.
