Halo 4 beats Black Ops 2 in 'most anticipated' list - Nielson

Could Call of Duty's dominance of the FPS market be waning? Possibly, according to a recent survey which names Halo 4 as 2012's most highly anticipated game on Xbox 360 above the mighty Black Ops 2.

The results of the Nielson survey says that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the most anticipated game on PS3, but not on Microsoft's console, on which Halo 4 takes the top spot forcing Activision's FPS powerhouse to settle for second.
From there on it's the usual suspects on both platforms; Assassin's Creed 3, Madden NFL 13, Darksiders 2 and Resident Evil 6 fill the upper slots as you would expect.

Nielsen collated the results from the survey answers of 4,823 male and female "active gamers" between the ages 7 to 54 collected throughout the month of June - to tie in with game announcement at E3.

5000 people is hardly the most all-encompassing figure, but enough to get a general lay of the land.

Wii gamers voted Just Dance 4 as their most anticipated, but they don't exactly have much to choose from.

Strange. I thought Call of Duty would easy have the top spot. So many, many, younger kids play it! Oh well, a lot play Halo too I suppose.

7vn WaW hands down was the best CoD for me, so many memories.
I've give up with cod, sold them all, back to Halo with me :)

I will disagree with that and say MW2 started it all. I wish they made CoD the old fashion way and just stuck with the 3/5/7 killstreaks. Also the CoD franchise just messed up everything by adding new bull crap to the game and just disregarded that it's suppose to be gun on gun, not killstreaks on dumb perks.

TheForbidden Im not suprised tbh. I think the CoD franchise was ruined after MW2 and all the complex killstreak system. What happened to good old 3, 7, 11? CoD 4 And WaW were undoubtedly the best CoDs but were ruined by 12 year old **** :) Sorry for the rant.


Actually it was the good old 3, 5, 7. UAV, Airstrike, Helicopter (Not the helicopter that you can just take down in 2 seconds either). Those were the days.

While I'm not a fan of Halo or anything, I might have to check the game out and see what it is like when it's released.

But, I'll be buying Black Ops II and Borderlands 2 this year, Borderlands just looks brilliant and Treyarch hasn't ever let me down when it comes to their COD games.
