Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Glitch Makes Church Excessively Bright

4.5
Ever since it exploded onto the gaming scene back in 2004, Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas continues to wow many players to this day thanks to its vast-open world that is loaded with an extraordinary amount of detail and content. From in-depth gameplay features like character customization and gang warfare, the game made the leap to modern hardware in the form of a remaster. However, while its remaster improves certain aspects of the game, that's not to say San Andreas doesn't have some laughable bugs in store for players too.

For those unaware of the recent San Andreas remaster, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is an updated collection of classics that aims to enhance the experience of three defining PS2-era games: Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. While this sounds like a dream come true for many gamers, the public reaction has been negative ever since it hit store shelves last year, as the inadequate gameplay experience it offered resulted in incredibly low Metacritic scores for the GTA Trilogy.

With such a backlash from critics and players to the GTA Trilogy, the developers have been steadily improving the game since its release with frequent updates that have ironed out some of the game's more glaring technical blunders, such as the infamous "Cop Land" mission bug, plus various other graphical mistakes like store sign typos and asset clipping. However, despite the developers' best efforts, it appears some of San Andreas' most hilarious glitches managed to seep through the cracks.

Leaving many gamers both amused and confused at another funny glitch in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Reddit user VladtheMemer posted a hysterical screenshot of CJ standing in awe of a very luminous church located in Bayside, Tierra Robada, San Andreas. Known simply as the Bayside Church, the building is not accessible to the player and plays no role in the storyline whatsoever. However, despite its limited intractability in the game, its obscenely bright glitched exterior textures surely makes it one of the more farcical yet memorable sights that can occur in GTA San Andreas.

After sharing the image, the post quickly received over 700 upvotes as replies flooded in, cracking and making jokes at the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy's expense. Although, from the bunch, two users did chime in to confirm that the reasoning behind this glowing church is because of a particular "night lighting" bug and that PC gamers can get this error fixed with graphic mods.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Not a useful glitch, but cool otherwise

Funny glitch but pretty pointless and not enough for me to load the game up and check out for myself.
