Vampire Survivors, the viral hit that’s all about walking around and slaying hundreds of foes, will be getting even more content than originally planned. Currently in early access, the budget bullet-hell rogue-like is getting double the number of characters originally planned. This means nine more characters, 16 new weapons and evolutions, and several new stages are coming.

The best part is that this doesn’t include two major new mechanics that are also coming. The first will be Arcanas which arrives in April and unlocks “a whole new level of viable builds and power creep.” Story Mode is also seemingly moving to the wayside in favor of a possible Endless Mode. poncle, the developer, is also working on porting to a new engine for improved performance.

As such, new features like key remapping and localized text fitting into the space available are going to be added directly into the new engine as opposed to the current game. The current goal is to release the updated engine version this Summer with save data being carried over. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
