God of War Ragnarok‘s 2022 release was amidst some rumours of a delay, but Sony has reiterated that it will be coming out this year.

The God of War franchise has been one of the most successful franchises for Sony. In 2018, the developers took a new direction and it turned out to be one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. Recently, God of War also made its way to PC, and it became Sony’s highest-selling game. In fact, many players ended up buying a PlayStation after being impressed with God of War on PC, only to ensure that they are able to play God of War Ragnarok when it releases.

The past few years has been quite a bumpy ride for the gaming industry, with a number of games being delayed amidst the pandemic. The most recent delay we have witnessed is Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League, with the game getting delayed from its initial 2022 release to Spring 2023. Amidst so many delays, there were rumours going around that Sony would delay God of War Ragnarok as well. Announced back during the PlayStation 5 reveal event, God of War Ragnarok was slated to release in 2021. However, it was delayed to 2022, due to Kratos’ voice actor Christopher Judge’s health.

However, it seems like Sony has no plans to delay God of War Ragnarok and it is still on track for the 2022 release window. Blue Owlz: Medic who handles the Community and Social for Santa Monica Studios confirmed in a tweet that God of War Ragnarok is indeed coming out in 2022. This is great news for PlayStation owners, as they are eagerly looking forward to the game’s release.

It should be noted that prominent game journalist Jason Schreier had also reaffirmed a few weeks ago that God of War Ragnarok will be coming out this year. When it comes to the exact release date of the game, there is still no information but many have suggested that the September-October window is something we can expect.
