When it was first teased back in 2018 during E3, we really couldn’t guess how big Starfield was going to be, but soon after the re-introduction of the game during last year’s E3, we did realize the massive scale of the new IP from Skyrim creators!
Starfield might be your Elder Scrolls set in the distant future, but Todd Howard and his talented crew explained how you should expect something brand new from them in this new project in a recent dev-talk video.
Starfield Will Allow You to Co-operate With Bad Guys’ Faction or Be a Good Player and Report Them to Higher-ups
In the second episode of Into the Starfield, the developers emphasized the importance of the player choice in Starfield, and how they want them to create their own experience and their own story rather than following a series of scripted events.
Soon after that, Will Shen, lead quest designer of Starfield, went to explain a little bit more about the different factions we are about to come across in the game. He mentioned a number of factions including the United Colonies, the idealistic space republicans, Freestar Collective, brave people who represent the space western phantasy, Ryujin Industries, a cyberpunk-ish faction representing a corporate life, and Crimson Fleet, the pirates or outlaws of the space!
Getting into each one of these factions will have its own process and storyline. Will Shen went on to explain a little bit about the starting quest of Ryujin Industries where you need to apply for a job and if you “cut the mustard,” you get hired.
