Netflix is making a movie based on BioShock, and is asking that fans kindly stay tuned. Netflix Geeked confirmed the crossover on its Twitter account earlier today, stating: “Netflix, 2K Games, and Take-Two Interactive are partnering to produce a film adaptation of the renowned video game franchise BioShock.”

It used artwork of a Big Daddy to accompany the post, but the language in the tweet suggests that elements of BioShock Infinite could be incorporated as well. It’ll be interesting how it approaches this, because the twists and turns in the original BioShock deliberately leaned into the medium, and player agency will of course be stripped away in the film.

Nevertheless, locations like Rapture are so visually striking that we’re confident they’ll translate.
