Call of Duty Rumoured To Receive Major UI Redesign And Subscription

4.3
The Call of Duty franchise has evolved in various ways since its inception in 2003 and if an industry insider is to be believed, they’re not done yet. The franchise is reportedly set to receive a “major redesign and rebrand” of its UI, courtesy of Infinity Ward.

Ever since Infinity Ward released the reboot of Modern Warfare back in 2019, each Call of Duty title since has stuck to an almost identical UI design. Modern Warfare, Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard all appear in the menu design when you open one of the games.

Many fans despise this design, as the menu looks incredibly cluttered and practically shoves the latest Call of Duty game down your throat, regardless of whether you’ve purchased it or not.

Thankfully, it looks like things could be about to change with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II as Infinity Ward are rumoured to be giving the UI and complete redesign.

Infinity Ward Plan To Entirely Rework Call of Duty UI
According to Ralphs Valve, an industry insider that often leaks details surrounding Call of Duty, Infinity Ward is planning to facilitate and entirely rework the Call of Duty UI system.

Ralph states that this will be a “major redesign and rebrand” and will also consist of the launch of Call of Duty’s first subscription scheme, a new mobile application, and more.

This also lines up with what fellow Call of Duty leaker, Zesty, revealed. Zesty teased the new UI design by tweeting an image of the Disney Plus UI saying “What a nice menu”, followed by a smirky emoji.

A fan then replied with their own concept of how the new UI design could look, to which Zesty replied with a gif stating “you score 10/10”. RalphsValve also replied to a fan with a similar concept stating that the new UI design will be far more intricate, but as a base, is virtually spot on.

Details on the rumoured subscription service and mobile application are still unclear, but we recommend taking all details with a pinch of salt until they’re made official by Infinity Ward themselves.
