Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Has Gone Gold

4.1
Hide the explosives- Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, the latest installment in Gearbox Software and 2K Games' Borderlands franchise, has officially gone gold.

“Going gold” means that the title’s master disc has been developed, which is the disc that will become the standard for all the physical discs printed and shipped to retailers. This doesn’t mean that the game is completely finished, of course, as is common in the age of digital downloads and day one patches. It does mean that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is ready for its release next month, which means that fans are getting excited to dive back into Tina's crazy world.

Keeping with the Dungeons and Dragons theme of the game, the official Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Twitter page revealed the news with a D20 roll. The die is rolled as a natural 20, there's a celebration, and the announcement is revealed.

This comes right after all the available classes in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands have been revealed, which are all themed around fantasy tabletop games. Since Tina will act as the narrator of the game and essentially play as Dungeon Master, it's only too fitting to have ridiculous classes like the Brr-Zerkers and Graveborn. While Borderlands has always been known for its sense of humor, you can bet that this will be the most ridiculous title in the franchise yet.

Tiny Tina was a natural pick to headline her own game. She was first introduced in Borderlands 2 and the mentally unstable 13-year-old soon became a fan favorite. That was mostly due to her explosives expertise and the fact that Tiny Tina is insanely quotable, thanks to a clever script and some fantastic voice acting from Ashly Burch (the writer and actor from Mythic Quest, who also voiced Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn).

Borderlands 2's acclaimed Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC really showcased the character and seems to be the basis for this spin-off title, as Tina took on the role of 'Bunker Master' in it and narrated the absurd adventures. The same will happen in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and fans are hoping it keeps a lot from the acclaimed DLC. Tina also appeared in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3, where she's revealed to be hanging out with Brick and Mordecai from the first game. While she appears as a 20-year-old in Borderlands 3 she'll be back to a teenager in this title, so expect the humor to be appropriately juvenile.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S on March 25th.
