Elden Ring on PC Will Use Easy Anti-Cheat

Much has been revealed about FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, from the duration of its main route to recently revealed new areas like Castle Mourne and Liurnia of the Lakes. Details on multiplayer have been rather sparse though aside from what the closed network test revealed. For instance, what is the developer doing to prevent cheating?

In the game’s Steam EULA (discovered by Reddit user hzy980512), it’s revealed that Elden Ring will use Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) on PC. Upon loading the game, the EAC client also starts and checks binaries and hardware memory. It notes that, “By agreeing to this Agreement, or otherwise using this Game, you give your consent that EAC may gather, store, share, and publish Cheat Data for the Purpose.

“The Cheat Data will be used solely for the Purpose, including but not limited to identifying and banning players who are cheating in the Game, analyzing cheating behavior and cheating codes, as well as sharing data about cheats with affiliates of EAC.” Time will tell how this affect offline play but it should help curtail cheaters in multiplayer even if it doesn’t stop them completely.

Elden Ring is out on February 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. You can download the latest Elden Ring Trainer and cheats for free from WeMod.

More bans to the innocent players will happen

Not very impressive, EAC is a joke and will probably just involve more people that have been wrongfully banned than legitimate hackers.
