Trusted Battlefield data miner Temporyal tweeted that the game’s client “includes weekly missions for 12 preseason weeks.” This points to a March 2022 release for the game’s first season.
The tweet also contains text referring to the new map included in season 1, which is likely to be named “exposure”.
Two sets of text, one for players playing on the US side and one for the Russian, features references to a landslide damaging the surrounding area, providing some insight into what the map may look like.
Battlefield 2042 has faced a tough few months since its release.
In November, Fawzi Mesmar, DICE’s head of design who looked after the Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront franchises, left the company.

🗓️ Season 1 seems to be scheduled for March 2022 (unless they've added a few weeks as "backup").

His departure was announced in an email sent to staff in November, seen by VGC, in which he revealed he’d been planning to leave for some time once the studio’s latest shooter had been shipped.
The former King studio director had served as DICE’s head of design since 2019. His role saw him helm the design team of over 80 creative directors, game designers and more, on projects such as Battlefield 2042, Star Wars Battlefront II and Battlefield V.
“It was an absolute pleasure to serve on the best design teams in the galaxy,” he wrote in his email to staff. “The incredible design work that you do continues to inspire me every day. Thank you for putting some faith in me, I hope I didn’t disappoint.”
On December 9, the game received its “last update of the year” which fixed things like bullet hit registration. It also fixed a rare bug that could result in players appearing invisible to enemies, as well as several issues with grenades and launchers.
