Rayman Origins is currently free to download for PC players.

The celebrated 2D platformer, which was released in 2013 and currently costs $19.99 / £8.59 / €9.99 on publisher Ubisoft’s store, is available to claim free of charge until December 22 at 9pm (local time).

It’s being given away as part of Ubisoft’s 35th anniversary celebrations, which previously saw the company offer PC players free copies of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Anno 1404 History Edition.

Ubisoft announced on Monday that its head of global game production was leaving the company.

Virginie Haas, who has served as Ubisoft’s chief studios operating officer for 16 months following three years as an independent director on its board, is departing “to pursue other activities”, the company said.

Ubisoft also revealed plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second year of content on Monday.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey crossover story DLC will be released today.

The first-ever crossover between two Assassin’s Creed games promises to let players “dive deeper into Kassandra’s journey with two new stories: Those Who Are Treasured available for free in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and A Fated Encounter in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.”

And Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s next expansion, Dawn of Ragnarök, was announced for release in March 2022.
